Artwork Spotlight: Grinchy Ornament
Artwork Spotlight: Grinchy Ornament
Creator's Note—Hayley Dunne: I was looking for festive DIY decor ideas on Pinterest to sprinkle some holiday cheer throughout my apartment when How the Grinch Stole Christmas came on the TV. So, I decided to capture some ornament theft. I worked on 8" x 8" marker paper while referring to pictures of the original cartoon by Dr. Seuss to draw a "grinchy" looking grasp, then used a circular stencil to draw a round ornament between the fingers. To bring the artwork to life, I grabbed some acrylic paint pens and used two shades of green for the hand, two shades of red for the ornament and his Santa sleeve, one light grey color for shadows, and black to outline everything.
This festive artwork is fun and easy to make, especially with a prepared outline to get you started! Head to Artwork, select the outline from the gallery, trace it, and make it your own. I can't wait to see your version!
